When you become a parent, a kid-free party suddenly seem like a distant memory. Canapes and bubbly are swapped for finger sandwiches and juice. However, every now and then it’s good to let your hair down and throw a kid-free party for the adults. Or at least try and get an invite to one! The main focal point of any party is the food, so here’s some inspiration to get your taste buds tingling.
Spiced Blinis With Smoked Salmon
Salmon is a party staple (unless you have a fish allergy, of course). However, your typical smoked salmon can get a bit boring. This recipe spices things up a little and really isn’t that hard to make. Plus you can cheat and buy the blinis before adding some spice, for the same result.Baked Brie with Wine Soaked Blackberries
Wine and cheese. No kid-free party can ever be without their magic combination. This recipe from Lemon Tree Dwelling is the kind of dinner party food that you don’t really want to share. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t take too long to make either. Simple, quick and absolutely delicious.
Quick and Easy Antipasto Skewers
Four ingredients and 10 minutes – that’s all you need to make this antipasto skewers. You can also make some veggie ones, for those who don’t eat meat. Personally, I’d probably drizzle some basil pesto over these as well. Just for a little something extra. Delicious!
Cheesy Mini Potato Gratin Snacks
There seems to be a common (cheesy) theme here. Let’s be honest, everyone loves cheese! Luckily, these are only 85 calories a serving and can be rustled up in a muffin tin – so it really is a win-win situation with these party snacks. You can also add other ingredients to spruce them up a little, so get creative.
Mini Pavlova Desserts
You can’t have a dinner party without serving sweets. These mini pavlova desserts are the perfect way to end on a (sugar) high. You can fill them with fresh cream, fruit, and even top them off with chocolate sprinkles if you like. Go on, you deserve a little treat!
Bacon Cheese Straws
My bacon cheese straws are amazing for any kind of party. Be warned though, this is not your typical boring finger food. It’s bacon and cheese and pastry! They will only take around 40 minutes to make and for an extra treat, serve them slightly warm from the oven. These six party food recipes should be perfect for the next time you get to play host – or to bring as a dish if someone else is hosting. That’s if you don’t scoff them all before you get there!
