This month the postman has been bringing us all kinds of delicious yumminess. I think he’s quite used to the volume of post we get now. It’s been a great month for new things, revamped old favourites and general deliciousness. Get ready for some Nibble, Nibble, Munch!
Biscuiteers are most definitely my favourite brand of posh biscuits. We were recently sent a box (when I say box, I mean posh metal tin with hinged lid) of their amazing hand iced, scrumptious classic car show biscuits. They are absolutely perfect for Father’s Day, or just because you feel like having a posh snack. Our overall opinion was “They are awesome!”
Misteright and I munched our way through the whole box of amazingly good biscuits in the shape of all things classic car. Some where designed to look like a speedometer, others were of sports cars and old fashioned pick up trucks. The detail in the icing was fabulous. You could tell a lot of hard work had gone into each biscuit. Misteright said they were brilliant and they tasted a lot nicer than he expected. They were far too nice to share with The Boy though. Teenagers would not appreciate these unless they are serious foodies.
The classic car show biscuits from Biscuiteers are a little pricey at £42.50 a tin (which also includes delivery charges) but they are most certainly worth every penny. Each box comes with 4 layers which made a total of 16 biscuits. They were so good that I think it might be a shame to give them to someone else. So I highly recommend that if you’re not buying these for your Dad, you buy some for yourself. Everyone should eat posh biscuits at least once in their life!
I’ve been buying GeoBars for years now. They’ve been selling them in Oxfam stores for ages and they taste really good. I was a little gutted when our local Oxfam store stopped selling them but then I found out it was because they were coming back with improved recipes and a much better packaging design than before. GeoBars have relaunched and we have been taste testing the new flavours. I am hooked.
I love snack foods, especially ones that don’t make you feel guilty for sitting down and eating 2 with your brew at 11am. GeoBars are so healthy, even the chocolatey one doesn’t feel like you’re eating chocolate! It’s fabulous. We tried all 3 of the improved flavours which are Mixed Berries, Wild Apricot and Chocolate. We were seriously impressed. We all loved each flavour but the winner for all of us was the mixed berries. Each bar had so much fruit inside and the berry flavour was a fabulous addition to breakfast on the go.
Degustabox is my favourite food subscription box. I love the surprises and this month it was totally awesome. It contained a lot of products that I really loved. I was most impressed with the Cranes strawberry & kiwi cider/alcopop drink. I’m not sure you could class it as a cider and it tasted like a kids drink. Naughty, but nice! This month, the box also contained the new yogurt coated rice cakes from Kallo. They are my new favourite snack and I’ve bought a few more packs since my box arrived. The Boy and I were ecstatic to find a bottle of Jack Daniels Honey BBQ sauce. It’s the best sauce around in our opinion. It’s definitely going on some Southern fried chicken strips.
They. Are. Far. Too. Nice!
There is still an active code for Degustabox which will get you £6 off your first box so if you decide to order one to try for yourself, just enter the code BLDEG15 at the checkout when you place your order.
You must have seen the advert for the new Birds Eye Breakfast Range on the TV. I thought that frozen breakfast waffles and pancakes would be a bit of a flop. I was so wrong there! As you could see from my Instagram feed last weekend, they were a HUGE success. We had the cinnamon waffles on Saturday served with a delicious vanilla caramel sauce and stacks of both classic and chocolate chip pancakes with slices of banana and a burnt toffee sauce for Sunday brunch. They were enjoyed by all of us and I was left wondering why I did not buy a few more boxes! I will be buying these again very soon, what a great way to start the day. We have waffles for breakfast a lot, but it’s a pain in the backside when I have to get up an hour early just to make the batter. The waffles from Birds Eye just go in the toaster for a couple of minutes and it’s done. Breakfast really did go with a bang (and a lot of vanilla caramel sauce!) You can buy the new Breakfast range from Birds Eye from most supermarkets (although smaller stores may not stock the whole range) for around £1.50 per pack.
What amazing things have you been Nibble, Nibble, Munch-ing on this month?
