There have been so many epic nibbles and munchy treats coming through our letterbox since we moved. I swear, the postman hates me (and he secretly wants to scoff all my noms) I’m sure he will get over it though, once he gets used to it. Some days, there is more post for us here than for the rest of the hamlet put together! Life sure seems to be coming together since we moved and this last couple of months have been filled with some pretty awesome stuff both through my letterbox, and over the internet.
My peanut butter and banana pound cake recipe has been featured in the Elevenses in the Office eBook put together by the guys from Furniture@Work. You can download it for free from their website. It’s filled with some great tasting ways to start the day and keep you going until lunch time. My Facebook page finally smashed 4000 likes too (which might not seem like a big achievement but to me, that’s a big deal.)
I’ve mostly been stuffing my face with extra healthy things as we have all been sick with the flu – it’s not gone down well so there’s been a mixture of nibbley stuff and the things I’ve been baking have been packed with awesome super foods to help us all get a bit better.
Day one of flu saw a nice case of chocolate flavour coconut water arrive from VitaCoco. It is now The Boy’s new favourite drink and I keep hearing chimes of “Well, it is coconut water Mum, it’s not like a can of pop or anything” So I have kept my mouth firmly shut on that one, you know, coz he totally got me! It kept us nicely hydrated whilst we were coughing and snotting everywhere.
We tasted the new squishy minis from Soreen, they’re like malt loaf gone a bit wrong but I’m a purist when it comes to Soreen. The Boy and Misteright loved them though so all was not lost. The chocolate ones seem to be a favourite for Misteright and The Boy could not scoff the toffee ones fast enough. Yes, he ate the whole box. I am a bad parent! The Soreen squishy minis arrived on the same day as the book Gluten Free Secrets, it did make me giggle that my post was for once, polar opposites!
We have also been using some cool stock granules in pots from Essential Cuisine. They come in a range of flavours and taste really nice. Our favourite one was the chicken. They’re so simple to use too, you just measure by the teaspoon so it’s a fool proof way to make a great tasting stock to add to your meal.
A nice parcel arrived from NutriSeed who are my new super food heroes. It could not have arrived at a better time. I made some delicious little ball things that were a scrumptious cross between flapjack and cookies and tasted really amazing. You can find the short version of the recipe on my Instagram feed or just wait for me to finish playing catch up and get it written up properly. Either way, you are going to need them in your life. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
