We were recently invited to check out the new look Pizza Hut restaurant near our home on Kingswood in Hull. We’d been to this restaurant a few times before but it recently closed down for refurbishment and has now relaunched with a whole new look and some new pizzas on their menu. We were really excited to go and give it the once over again and check out the new look whilst stuffing our faces on some of the new items which are now available on the menu.
We arrived on a busy Saturday evening, we were slightly early and the restaurant was filling up fast but that didn’t stop the friendly staff showing us over to our table almost immediately. The restaurant had a very similar layout to how it was before, it was bright; clean and the waitress was delighted to point out their funky new decor whic had a whole wall covered in wallpaper which had been made from images of the staff. The Boy instantly decided that he needs this in his room ASAP. The rest of the walls were brightly coloured and it looked a lot better than it did before. There was a brand new area for soft drinks which is great as refills are free with certain brands of soft drink and it’s far easier to get the kids to help themselves instead of waiting impatiently for a member of the waiting staff to bring one over. Next to the soft drink machine, was the all you can eat whippy style ice cream machine surrounded with sweets and sauces (and a very large queue of small children, much to the annoyance of The Boy and his friend)
The salad bar was larger than it was before too and had a great selection of salad items along with fruit, pastas, bread sticks and tortilla chips. It’s a walk around salad bar which made it so much easier to see what we all wanted to fill our free unlimited salad bowls with. By the time we had filled our salad bowls and got our drinks back to the table our pizzas had arrived. We ordered a double pepperoni, a meat feat, a margherita and a Philly cheese steak (which was a new addition to the menu) All of them were delicious and the Philly cheese steak pizza was definitely a talking point whilst we were eating. I love Philly cheese steak but I’ve not seen it in the UK much at all. On the pizza, it worked well as a topping but I do prefer it as a sandwich. Misteright enjoyed it the most and we will be ordering one again in the not too distant future. I loved how the sides came in little buckets too, it’s so much nicer for presentation and they are easier to share too.
Overall, we were very impressed with the new look at our local Pizza Hut and with the new Philly cheese steak pizza which is a fabulous new addition to the menu. The prices were reasonable and the pizzas were a big improvement on what they used to be. So if you’re looking for a nice meal with the kids, or without, Pizza Hut gets the thumbs up from us!
