I was recently challenged by Dr. Oetker to create a chocolatey recipe from their website as part of their #EvenBetterBaking campaign. It’s all for the love of chocolate! This March, Dr. Oetker are celebrating everything chocolate and getting baking! It was hard work picking which recipe I was going to bake. There was a fabulous selection of amazing recipes, but after a big chat with Misteright and The Boy I decided that it was going to be the Marbled Chocolate Cupcakes with Peppermint Buttercream recipe. I love a good challenge and this recipe had a difficult rating on the recipce, so I was definitely up for the challenge.
I’m a massive lover of anything chocolate and mint. It’s one of my favourite flavour combinations. It doesn’t matter what kind of chocolate it is but combine it with peppermint and wow. It’s just amazing. When it came to re-creating the recipe I found it rather simple. The recipe rating said difficult but it wasn’t really hard to do, it was just a bit fiddly with all the melting of chocolate. I enjoyed baking the cupcakes and the end result was delicious. We ate the cupcakes for a bit of afternoon tea when The Boy came home from school and there is a couple left which Misteright and I will be having after lunch!
Dr. Oetker is encouraging bakers to celebrate everything chocolatey and bake their own chocolate bake. Chocolate is better when you share it (apparently!) so Dr. Oetker want to know who you will share your chocolate based creation with and then you can win an amazing deluxe hamper, packed full of wonderful chocolate baking products. To enter the competition, all you need to do is get yourself (or the kids) in the kitchen and bake something amazingly chocolatey. Take a picture of your creation and tweet to @DrOetkerBakes saying who you will be sharing your bake with. Don’t forget to include the hashtag #EvenBetterBaking
