Chocolate orange cupcakes are great at any time of year but they are especially good in the run up to Christmas when the Terry’s chocolate orange segments finally go on sale. I love them, the popping candy ones are my favourite and they are fabulous squished on the top of some butter cream icing that has been lovingly piped onto the top of these amazing, delicious cupcakes. With it being the season for eating a lot more than usual, I can actually justify having baked far too many of these already Sadly, they were all eaten for research purposes. I’m sorry, not sorry!
If you’re making up hamper gifts or are having loads of people over this Christmas, these are prefect for your table. Everyone will love the moist and delicious chocolate orange cupcakes. You don’t even need any baking skills for this and if you’re not so good with a piping bag for doing icing, you can just splosh some over the top. You do need will power when you bake these though. I mean, who can resist warm chocolate orange cakes fresh from the oven. If, like me, you have no willpower and the temptation of the chocolate orange, fresh from the oven is too much for you then do what I do. Leave off the butter cream, reach for a big scoop of vanilla ice cream and eat it hot. They were not really research purposes, I just really do have no willpower. I have no willpower at all.
