Chilli lime chocolate truffles are great for a bit of grown up indulgence. You can try the kids with them but it’s not a flavour combination that suits everyone. They are great to give as gifts at Christmas or just to have on hand instead of cake! Well, it is that time of year! Chilli lime chocolate truffles are really simple to make and can be kept for about 15 days in the fridge. You don’t even have to make the mixture into truffles, you can just keep the ganache mixture in the fridge and make them when you need them! I like that about chocolate truffles. Plus the mixture doubles up as a wonderful hot chocolate ingredient if you’re wanting a drink that is slightly more indulgent than your average hot chocolate!
If you’re not that into spicy chocolates, you can use less chilli flakes for a milder flavour. The amount in the recipe was perfect for us though. Misteright usually complains about spicy or hot foods but he really loved these chilli lime chocolate truffles. He took some to work with him and they were all eaten in a short space of time with no complaints about the heat from the chilli. These chilli lime chocolate truffles are best enjoyed with a good cup of coffee, preferably with cream!
