I’ve been creating red velvet brownie microwave cake for quite a while now. It’s taken me months to get this recipe just perfect. Everyone loves it! My amazing red velvet brownie cake has been gifted to many people in our neighbourhood during it’s creation. This recipe came about a few months ago when I was asked to review the Whirlpool Max Sport microwave I had just discovered the joys of microwave mug cakes and I wanted to take it a bit further. Microwave mug cakes are nice, but most of the recipes I had tried were bland and a bit nasty without custard or ice cream. I couldn’t have that. I needed a perfect cake to cook in the microwave, something that was a combination of all my favourite cakey things. Red velvet cake is a huge luxury cake that I really love to eat but I don’t get around to baking very often as it takes a long time to make a triple layered one. I also love chocolate brownies, when you mix them together it is actually amazing and I have tried similar a few years ago but I baked it all in the oven separately. It took an age and was too long and drawn out to actually cook it more often. I’d never even considered cooking a similar cake in the microwave really. I’m so glad that I decided to create this in the end.
So this red velvet brownie microwave cake is really simple, you just need a couple of mugs, a couple of forks, a spoon and a microwaveable flan dish! You don’t really need any kitchen skills at all, The Boy can make this and Misteright can too. I must point out here that neither of them ever would bake this for me but they could do, should they want to. It really is that easy. It also tastes amazing with the frosting I have used in the recipe or with a huge scoop of good quality vanilla ice cream, or both!
