Scones are great, but chocolate scones are even better! Especially with cream and a lovely cup of tea in the afternoon. Scones are really simple to make, they don’t even take that long to cook and the final result is truly delicious. These are not just any chocolate scone though, these are chocolate & peanut butter scones which are deliciously crumbly and amazing with whipped cream in the middle on a little peanut butter & Nutella spread on the scones instead of jam.
Chocolate & peanut butter scones are a great alternative to a cream tea kind of scone and they really taste fabulous with a snickercino instead of a regular brew. It’s nice to be a bit different occasionally. I do love a good scone with jam but everything is better with chocolate inside. This is no exception. The peanut butter & Nutella on the inside of the scone goes really well with the whipped cream and is a truly brilliant chocolatey afternoon tea. This recipe will make 10 scones but if you are feeling extra indulgent, don’t cut them in half just use two full scones instead. It’s delicious. These scones are best served warm from the oven but if you are using fresh whipping cream, you will need to leave the scones to cool for around 30 minutes or the cream will melt and become runny instead of a thick heavy whip.
