Tiffin is a great fridge cake. It’s quick, really simple and you can get the kids to do the crushing. There are loads of different types of tiffin. It’s one of those epic recipes that you can chuck almost anything into. Sweets, dried fruit, marshmallows, biscuits even chunks of cake! Tiffin requires no cooking, just a bit of melting stuff but nothing in the oven. You can always melt the ingredients in the microwave to save some time too. I do prefer to melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of boiling water though. It’s just “my way!”
Tiffin is perfect for picnics and snacks. Oh, who am I kidding, it's great to have it in the fridge as a go-to snack during the school holidays. Check out the #recipe at http://bit.ly/CrunchieTiffinRecipe Click To Tweet
It just so happened that 3 packs of Crunchie were reduced to clear in my local Sainsburys so it would have been rude not to grab a couple of packs. Tiffin is perfect for Crunchie and it’s honeycomb loveliness. It gives something extra to the crunch of the digestives, I find that digestives can go a bit soggy during the cooling process if they get too wet and then they never quite get their crunch back. The crunchie really adds a punch too. It’s not the type of thing that you’d expect to find in tiffin but once you’ve tasted it, you know it was just meant to be! You can top them with any kind of chocolate that you prefer but we love milk chocolate best in this recipe as it tastes best with the honeycomb from the Crunchie. Just remember to keep it out of the sun or it will get messy! I guarantee that everyone who tries a slice of Crunchie tiffin will instantly fall in love with it!
