I loathe tinsel. It is the one bad thing about Christmas. It’s just tacky and not very nice. Also, Oakenfold the cat likes to eat it and he gets glitter-poops in his tray. I much prefer making Christmas Tree biscuits. They look amazing on my real Christmas tree, they smell good and it doesn’t matter if they get broken because you just eat one and it’s not a problem! I really love edible decorations, they make my tree look really lovely. Plus, I get to eat the decorations! The biscuits are great for visiting children (and The Boy & Misteright) It’s a really nice to help yourself to a tree biscuit, or offer them to your guests. If you hang them on a real tree, they take on some of the smell of the tree itself after a couple of days and it makes them taste extra Christmassy.
These biscuits taste just like Christmas. All my favourite Christmas flavours in the same biscuit! This recipe can also be used for gingerbread houses as it is strong and sturdy. This recipe was adapted from the biscuits that my Gran and I used to make when I was a small child. We would bake some for Santa to eat after he dropped off the gifts. It always reminds me of how much I miss her at this time of year.
